Acura Believes in the Power of Music

Acura has been a driving force in its support for the music and arts of New Orleans for decades, and this year is no exception.

Now the automaker is getting involved directly with renowned bandleader, singer, songwriter and producer, Troy “Trombone Shorty” Andrews. Acura is the official automotive partner of the Trombone Shorty Foundation’s Shorty Fest and Trad Fridays. Acura also recently participated in its 18th year of sponsoring the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival.

“For 18 years the music scene in New Orleans has been a dynamic fit for the Acura brand, and we are honored to support the incredible contributions the Trombone Shorty Foundation is making to advance local musicians and maintain the one-of-a-kind musical culture of New Orleans,” said Jon Ikeda, vice president of Acura Sales.

There’s no doubt the automotive brand is dedicated to music. For five years, Acura has supported the GRAMMY’s MusiCares Foundation, which gives critical help to the music community through programs and resources that range from financial, medical to personal emergencies. To show its support for the MusiCares Foundation, earlier this year, Acura designed a custom 2017 Acura NSX to be auctioned to Tom Petty at the 2017 MusiCares Person of the Year Tribute.
